I am an Assistant Professor of English and Comparative Literary Studies at the University of Warwick, where I direct the English and History degree program.

In my research, I recover marginalized histories of race, ethnicity, and migration; study the formation and exploitation of these concepts in western discourses; and assess the potential of old and new methods—like the digital humanities—to drive these inquiries. In my teaching, I hold timely discussions about what it means to advocate for equality, diversity, and justice, and how historical, formal, and critical approaches can deepen such commitments and inspire new ones.
